Empowering Survivors, Changing Narratives
Who Are We?
What Were You Wearing? Australia is an Indigenous, youth-led charity fighting to end sexual violence in Australia.
Advocacy
Fight for change with us! We won’t stop until we live in a community safe from sexual violence. Advocacy with us involves working with institutions, schools, universities and the government on making our world safer.
Education
We commit to providing education to the community on sexual violence, consent, sex, life after trauma, respectful relationships and much more. Education is one of the most important things we want to achieve at WWYW, as we believe that is the key to changing the perspectives on victim blaming.
Awareness
From protests to panel events, our team creates events that bring much needed awareness to our key issues. With sexual violence being one of the biggest issues Australians are facing, we need to make change NOW.
Our Impact
In 2023, we amended RSA laws to include mandatory drink spiking prevention training for bar and security staff across NSW. In April 2024, we held nationwide rallies to fight against family, sexual, and domestic violence, with 40+ volunteers, and 100,000 attendees across 17 locations.
